Our Journey

Five years of building a simpler way to source medium voltage equipment.

Elektrik team

The Beginning: 2020

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mario Dealba set out to build an app that would revolutionize how people find medium voltage (MV) accessories. We packed our bags and headed to Alabama to participate in the Techstars energy tech program—an unforgettable experience that laid the groundwork for our future.

Finding Our Footing: 2021

This was a year of pivotal changes. Album VC invested a $1 million seed round, allowing us to bring on our first hires, including COO Tim Tyrrell and key team members. We faced an early identity crisis, shifting from a third-party distributor model to working directly with leading manufacturers like TE Connectivity, Richards Manufacturing Company, BURNDY, and PFISTERER. This strategic pivot proved to be a defining moment. It also led to a milestone: CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. placed our first-ever purchase order for shearbolts, and we were able to deliver exactly what they needed, when they needed it.

Defining Our Identity: 2022

2022 was a defining year. It was a period of immense challenge and growth as several team members departed, leaving a small but determined core team of Tim, Mitchell Caffey, Matthew Weir, and Mario Dealba. This difficult time tested our resilience and ultimately forged the spirit of Elektrik. It was during this period that our core principle of 133 Attitude was born—a commitment to faith, determination, and unwavering resolve.

Unprecedented Growth: 2023

With a renewed sense of purpose, we welcomed Isaac Duarte, Alexa Dealba, and Zuleika Parry to the team. The year was an incredible success as we earned the trust of our customers. A new focus on our app, led by Isaac, quickly paid off. We outgrew our 2,000 sq ft warehouse and, with a mighty team of just seven, delivered over $8 million in rubber sales.

Doubling Down: 2024

Our theme for 2024 was "pedal to the metal." We expanded our sales team with the addition of Corey Lawhun, Sam Black, and Kyle Straub, while Cassandra Evans joined to support our accounting efforts. We doubled our numbers from the previous year, navigating a new phase of rapid growth. This success allowed us to move into a brand-new, 8,000 sq ft warehouse, a space we thought we'd never outgrow.

Building a Foundation: 2025

This year, our focus is on building a solid foundation for a great company. Our team has grown to 22 members, and we’ve opened a second location in Raleigh, North Carolina. The app is better than ever, and we’ve seen transformative growth, particularly in the renewables and data center sectors, despite the challenges of changing tariffs.

Five years of relentless momentum—every challenge has forged the mighty Elektrik we've become. We're young, hungry, and charging toward an unstoppable future.
